A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5232 AS INTRODUCED 10-16-01

House Bill 5232 would amend the Insurance Code (MCL 500.403a) to specify that each insurer, health maintenance organization, and insurance agent, producer, solicitor, counselor, and adjuster licensed or authorized to do business in the state was subject to the proposed "Health Care Information Protection and Privacy Act." The bill is tie-barred to House Bill 4936, which would create the proposed act.
