A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4565 AS INTRODUCED 4-17-01

House Bill 4565 would amend Public Act 205 of 1941 (MCL 252.52), which deals with limited access highways, to allow the use of "attraction logo signage" within the right-of-way of such highways. Currently the law authorizes the state transportation department to enter into agreements to allow signs that contain the trademark or other symbol that identifies a business. The bill would explicitly permit signs that indicate services that have regional significance and adequate parking accommodations and that have the primary purpose of providing amusement, historical, cultural, or leisure activities to the public.
