A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6147 AS INTRODUCED 11-14-00

House Bill 6147 would amend Section 40103 (MCL 324.40103) of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA), regarding wildlife conservation, to include mourning doves among the list of game which may be hunted in open season. The provisions of the bill would be effective June 1, 2001. In addition, the bill would delete the current provision under the act which specifies that the designation of species as game is a legislative function (MCL 324.40110).
