A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4402 AS INTRODUCED 3-9-99

Currently, under Public Act 566 of 1978 -- which prescribes standards of conduct for public officers and employees -- public officers and public employees of a city, village, township, school district, community college district, or county are prohibited from serving as members of certain boards and authorities, with certain exceptions. House Bill 4402 would increase the number of exceptions to include appointment to a brownfield redevelopment authority established under the provisions of the Brownfield Redevelopment Financing Act (MCL 125.2651 to 125.2672).
