A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4158 AS INTRODUCED 2-3-99

The bill would add a new section to the Michigan Penal Code to prohibit employers from discharging or disciplining a volunteer firefighter for being late for, or absent from, work, because the employee had responded to an emergency call.
