A bill to authorize the state administrative board to convey certain state owned property in Ingham county; to prescribe con- ditions for the conveyance; and to provide for disposition of the revenue derived from the conveyance. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 1. The state administrative board, on behalf of the 2 state, may convey to the Lansing school district, for considera- 3 tion of $1.00, property now under the jurisdiction of the depart- 4 ment of management and budget and located in the city of Lansing, 5 Ingham county, Michigan, and further described as follows: 6 That part of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 15, T4N, R2W, City 7 of Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan, described as: Beginning at 8 the intersection of the East line of Pennsylvania Avenue and the 9 South line of Orchard Street said point being 41.25 feet South 10 and 148.50 feet West of the Southwest corner of Lot 1, Fairview 04021'97 DRM 2 1 Subdivision, as recorded in Liber 3 of Plats, Page 46 of the 2 Ingham County Records; thence N89ø36'22"E, 925.00 feet along the 3 South line of Orchard Street; thence S00ø02'09"E, 432.39 feet; 4 thence N89ø58'18"W, 115.00 feet; thence S00ø14'15"W, 60.00 feet; 5 thence N89ø58'54"W, 810.00 feet to the East line of Pennsylvania 6 Avenue; thence North, 485.71 feet along the East line of 7 Pennsylvania Avenue to the point of beginning. Containing 10.22 8 acres, more or less. Subject to all easements and restrictions 9 of use or record. 10 Sec. 2. The conveyance authorized by this act shall provide 11 for both of the following: 12 (a) That the property shall be used exclusively for public 13 school purposes and that upon termination of that use or use for 14 any other purpose, the state may reenter and repossess the prop- 15 erty, terminating the grantee's estate in the property. 16 (b) That if the grantee disputes the state's exercise of its 17 right of reentry and fails to promptly deliver possession of the 18 property to the state, the attorney general, on behalf of the 19 state, may bring an action to quiet title to, and regain posses- 20 sion of, the property. 21 Sec. 3. The conveyance authorized by this act shall be by 22 quitclaim deed approved by the attorney general and shall reserve 23 to the state all rights to coal, oil, gas, and other minerals, 24 excluding sand, gravel, clay, or other nonmetallic minerals found 25 on or under the property conveyed. 04021'97 3 1 Sec. 4.
