A bill to allow state public universities to accept certain revenue from the secretary of state and to provide for expendi- ture of that revenue. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 1. (1) The governing board of a state public univer- 2 sity may accept money from university registration plate service 3 fees collected by the secretary of state under section 811e of 4 the Michigan vehicle code, 1949 PA 300, MCL 257.811e. 5 (2) Money accepted by a state public university under this 6 section shall be expended only for instructional services and 7 academic research. 8 (3) The governing board of a state public university accept- 9 ing money under this section shall account to the legislature for 10 all the income and expenditures by the university under this 00199'97 TAV 2 1 section in the annual accounting required under section 1 of 1963 2 (2nd Ex Sess) PA 42, MCL 390.1101. 3 Sec. 3.
