CONTENT
The bill would amend the General Sales Tax Act to exempt from the tax the sale of a casket, or other outside burial container, for the burial of any honorably discharged veteran of a Federally recognized branch of service of the United States.

FISCAL IMPACT
This bill would reduce sales tax revenue by an estimated $1.8 million in FY 1998-99. This would reduce the revenue in the following budget areas: School Aid Fund, $1.3 million; revenue sharing, $0.4 million; General Fund/General Purpose revenue, $0.1 million.
State revenue sharing to local governments would be reduced by an estimated $0.4 million.
