House Bill 5627 (Substitute S-2 as reported) Sponsor: Representative Eric Bush

House Committee: Judiciary and Civil Rights

Senate Committee: Families, Mental Health and Human Services

CONTENT

The bill would amend the Friend of the Court Act to require the Office of the Friend of the Court (FOC) to use electronic means to receive, record, and disburse support payments beginning on January 1, 1998, so that support money was disbursed immediately upon receipt.

FISCAL IMPACT

The bill would have no additional fiscal impact as electronic means to receive, record, and disburse payments are currently being used by many FOCs and will be by many others due to the implementation of the Federally mandated child support enforcement system.
