House Bill 5114 (as reported without amendment)
Sponsor: Representative Ken Horn
House Committee: Families, Children, and Seniors
Senate Committee: Families, Seniors, and Human Services

CONTENT
The bill would amend the Social Welfare Act to repeal Section 14i, which provides that Sections 57f(3)(c), (e), and (f) and 57g(4), (5), (6), and (7) do not apply after March 31, 2007. The sections in question dealt with certain exemptions from participation in the Work First program, and penalties to be imposed if a recipient of services failed to comply with applicable rules and requirements.

Public Acts 131 and 132 of 2011 deleted those sections and enacted other provisions with the same section numbers. (Public Acts 131 and 132 prohibit the payment of Family Independence Program assistance to any individual for longer than a cumulative total of 48 months during his or her lifetime, with some months exempted from the limit for certain recipients.)
