CONTENT
The bill would amend Public Act 227 of 1967, which regulates the inspection, construction, installation, and maintenance of elevators, to authorize the construction of a beach or residential lift for the use of certain homeowners groups.


The Act requires an elevator to be constructed, equipped, maintained, and used in accordance with the American Standard Safety Code for elevators and rules adopted by the Elevator Safety Board. The bill would allow the construction of a beach or residential lift, for the intermittent use of members of a homeowners group of up to 20 residential dwellings, in compliance with the standards applying to private residential lifts.
