House Resolution No. 61.
A resolution honoring the Saginaw High School Boys Basketball team upon winning the 2007 Class A State Championship.
Whereas, Saginaw High School won its fourth boys basketball state championship, earning our awe, pride, and applause. The victory over Detroit Redford on Saturday, March 24, 2007, served as a just reward for the hard work and commitment demonstrated by the Trojans throughout their amazing 2006-2007season; and
Whereas, The Saginaw High School boys basketball team compiled an overall record of 25-1 in the 2006-2007 season; and
Whereas, The Saginaw High School boys basketball team consists of seniors: Demario Wilson, Mike Powell, Tristian Calhoun, Todd Jones, Robert Clark, Bobby Lewis, Josh Southern, and Deonte Wesley; juniors: John Edwards, Daniel West, Mario Robinson, Will Marlow, Cortney Washington, and Draymond Green; and sophomore: Mike Green; and
Whereas, The head coach of the Saginaw High School boys basketball team is Lou Dawkins. Julian Taylor and Bruce Simmions are the assistant coaches and Larry Johnson and Josh Shelton are the managers. Tamika Randall is the trainer. The Saginaw High School principal is Cliff Davis and the athletic director is Marshall Thomas; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body honor the Saginaw High School Boys Basketball team upon winning the 2007 Class A State Championship; and be it further
Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to Head Coach Lou Dawkins, the other coaches, and all the team members.
