Act 222 of 1972

AN ACT to provide for an official personal identification card; to provide for its form, issuance and use; to regulate the use and disclosure of information obtained from the card; to prescribe the powers and duties of the secretary of state; to prescribe fees; to prescribe certain penalties for violations; and to provide an appropriation for certain purposes.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

Section 28.291SectionOfficial state personal identification card; application; requirements; automatic voter registration opt-out; identification card issued by department of corrections as documentation; electronic access to prisoner information; person holding operator's or chauffeur's license; applicant not citizen of United States; disclosure or display of Social Security number; exception; agreements with federal government; termination of official state personal identification card issued by another state; duties of secretary of state; communication impediment designation.
